My family visited Memorial Weekend to celebrate my Dad's 50TH birthday (actually on June 5). My sister and I bought our Dad tickets to his very first Indianapolis 500!! Brett and my Dad's buddy, John, came down for the weekend, too, and all the men went to the race. We were nervous for awhile, because the morning of the race it was pouring rain! It stopped just in time for the race to start as scheduled at 1pm, but there was a two-hour rain delay around lap 108. After the rain delay they were able to get in about 60 more laps before Dario Franchitti was awarded the checkered flag! Oh yeah, and before my Dad started drinking, he somehow mistook the large hand-washing trough in one of the restrooms for the urinal and peed in the sink! Way to leave your mark, Dad!
Meanwhile, Me, Jamie and my Mom enjoyed lunch at TGI Friday's followed by some intense shoe shopping. :) Then we played games back at the house, which is when my mom proceeded to get the highest score I've ever seen in Yahtzee: 437!!! She got 3 Yahtzees! In one game!
The guys didn't take a lot of pics at the race, but here are some I took at the house. Jamie and Brett's boxer, Rigley, came for the weekend, too. He and Joey ran their own Indy 500 around the house ... but there was no clear winner in their race. They each pinned the other one a few times! Miss you all ~ Lauren and Jeff

Actually, I got 3 pairs of fabulous shoes! I was in desperate need of some summer shoes to wear with skirts and shorts. The best part: they're all really comfortable!
Hope all is dandy in upper MI!
