Circle City Pit Stop

We love having visitors. Even the kind that are just passing through. So we were thrilled when Jeff's Aunt Denise and Uncle Dan said they wanted to visit us for one night on their way from Michigan to Florida.

And this is the only thing I took a picture of while they were here:

Aunt Denise learning how to fly Jeff's remote-controlled helicopter
while Morgan took Uncle Dan's "order" from her kitchen.

Aunt Denise took a few photos of us in our pajamas literally as they were pulling out of our driveway to leave the next morning, but those are probably best left on her camera.

The evening they arrived, we all shared a delicious dinner at Macaroni Grill. This was truly one of the better restaurant experiences we've had in awhile. We had never been to this restaurant before, but when Aunt Denise said she wanted Italian it was the first place that popped into Jeff's mind. Plus, it was near the Vera Bradley store and Aunt Denise wanted to stop there. Win-win!

One of the fun aspects of Jeff's extended family is their competitive nature. After Morgan went to bed, we played one of our new favorite games, Blokus, and then a round of Golf the card game. After telling Aunt Denise and Uncle Dan the key strategy to winning at Blokus (why did we do that?), Dan won and Denise came in second. Then they proceeded to school us at Golf and Denise won with Dan coming in second (scorecard below).

The next morning, Morgan had everyone up like clockwork by 6:30 a.m. This is normally not the highlight of anyone's stay at our house, but Aunt Denise and Uncle Dan actually wanted to get on the road early so they seemed genuinely glad to be up at the crack of dawn.

Jeff cooked us all a lovely breakfast (with crispy bacon and thin pancakes for Aunt Denise) and then our guests packed up and headed south, making sure to stop halfway down our driveway to take the aforementioned photos of us in our pajamas.

It was a very enjoyable visit and we hope they come back again soon - and bring more of the extended family with them!

And for the record, Cousin Logan, it was not "weird."

Well let's all talk about Logan. We did have a great time and I did not feel weird at all. So..when Logan gets older it will be an awesome experience to stop at his nephew Hudson's or Ryan's house. He will then discover how fun it is. Glad we got to stop and looking forward to stopping again but this will be a quick stop because we have to get to the birthday party !! YAY but we are hoping our nephew, wife and daughter come up to RC and stay with us in Aug. or whenever. See you guys Friday. Love , A. Denise

Ryan and Allie,
We were excited to see Nana and Poppy at our house! We'd love to have you and your parents come to our house sometime too!

Aunt Denise,
We are planning to come up north for the Christmas party in December, but a summer visit may be hard to swing this year. :(
We are looking forward to your next pit stop later this week!
