Morgan was excited to start preschool! She picked out her Hello Kitty backpack and a purple folder to go inside (required by the teacher). The day before school started was Meet the Teacher Day. I took her to the school for about an hour so she could meet her teacher, play with the toys in her classroom and see the daycare where she would go before and after class. I had to pry her away from the classroom because she was having so much fun playing with the toys!
On the first day of school, Morgan was truly excited! We took the obligatory first day of school photos - some inside, some outside and a few over at Patty's house (by which time the look on her face was less excitement and more "are we done now?").

When we dropped her off at the daycare in the school, she hopped right in line to wash hands (they were getting ready to serve breakfast) and we had to ask her to get out of line to give us hugs goodbye. I was a little teary-eyed as I walked back down the hall to the main entrance to head to work.
Since the first day:
Morgan loves her preschool teacher, Mrs. Toombs. I joked with Jeff at the parent orientation when they lined the teachers up in front of all the parents to introduce them because I somehow knew that "Morgan's teacher is probably the gorgeous blonde," and I was right! She sends the kids home every day with this neat little chart that helps the parents know what they did for the day.
Morgan has already had her first field trip! I chaperoned the trip to the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Here is our conversation before the field trip:
Mommy: "You get to go on your first field trip to the art museum! And you get to ride a school bus to the museum!"
Morgan: "No car seats?!" (said with huge grin across her face)

I asked Morgan after the field trip what her favorite part was and she said, "The part where we got to do the bendy things." [It was a demonstration about how art is made up of colors, shapes and lines and the kids were given pipe cleaners to represent lines.]

Off to school she goes...whether we like it or not. Why do they have to grow up so so fast. I bet she loved the field trip and ride on the bus. Glad you shared this with us too!!
That was A. Denise by the way I forgot to sign off :)
