Right before I went back to work, we spent a week in Michigan visiting family and participating in Rachel and Jesse's wedding. Yep, Jeff's sister and her fiance finally got hitched on Sept. 13!
The wedding ceremony took place under a pavilion in a park. Despite a soaking rain that wouldn't quit (which turned the park into a mud bog), it was probably the most romantic setting I've ever seen for a wedding ceremony. The bride and groom stood in front of the warm glow of the pavilion's lit stone fireplace to exchange their vows. The wood beams of the pavilion were wrapped with strands of white lights, giving the setting a soft glow amid the darkness of the stormy skies. It was beyond beautiful!
The greatest part was that I got to be Rachel's Matron of Honor! Jeff was also in the wedding party as a groomsman and Morgan was technically the flower girl, but because of the weather she didn't attend the ceremony. I was so busy the whole day with my Matron of Honor duties, though, that I only took 3 pictures. All three of them are of Rachel having her dress bustled before the reception. If I get ahold of any pictures other people took, I'll be sure to post them.
Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Rivera! We had a great time at your wedding and we all love and miss you!
Lauren, Jeff, Morgan and Joey
