There is a woman at work who is about my height/weight, who also has brown hair and is in her twenties. These are our similarities.
Our differences are many. She has curly hair. She wears glasses. She works for a completely different department under a different supervisor. I have worked here a year longer than she has. Her name is Reesa, which sounds nothing like Lauren.
Despite what seem like obvious differences to her and I, many of the people we work "for" (i.e. higher-ups) can't seem to tell us apart. I am greeted with "Hi Reesa" in the halls frequently. Newsletters that I have passed out for review are returned to her. This happens over and over, and it seems like the offenders are different people every time.
These cases of mistaken identity are starting to tick me off. We both correct the offenders whenever possible, but sometimes they repeat the offense anyway. After a particularly annoying "Hi Reesa" in the halls yesterday from someone I have sat next to and worked on a newsletter with, I decided I am going to start keeping track of the offenders here. I'm including their names and the number of times they've offended. I'm not sure yet what I'll do with this information after I compile it, but right now this is my way to vent my frustrations over the whole situation.
Here are the offenders, in no particular order:
Gail R.
Mary Ann S.
Sheila K. (2)
Dave C.
Mara R.
Steve S.
Scott R. (2)
Mike S. (2)
Dale G. (2)
Linda L.
UPDATE: Reesa has accepted a job offer elsewhere. Her last day was Oct. 30. Hopefully the confusion will end now ... although I'm not holding my breath.

Thanks for sharing. I'll work harder at this, Reesa.
Very funny, Veronica. You're a sassy little thing, aren't you?
Lauren,
A little advice from someone that's been around a while. Never let people know what bothers you. Once they know, you are opening yourself up to a lot of teasing. Loved the story.
Why do I get the feeling my Christmas presents will be labeled "To Reesa" this year?
Lauren it could be a good thing. someday if you screw something up just blame it on Reesa!A. Denise
This had me laughing out loud! Hilarious, Reesa! :)
