Nightmares

We are certain we are the cause of any and all nightmares Morgan will ever have.

See, from birth to 6 months, clipping Morgan's nails was rather easy. I just waited until she fell asleep in my lap and then clipped away. Sometime between 6 and 7 months, however, she gained her independence and would no longer sleep in our arms. She wanted the freedom to move about while she slept, so we started laying her in the crib when it was time to sleep. She took to it wonderfully and has put herself to sleep in her crib largely without fail ever since. Yay for sleep! Boo for trimming nails!
The only ways we've found for trimming her nails since then have been to a) trim them when she's asleep in the car, or b) after she falls asleep, sneak into her room with a flashlight and clip her nails. Yeah, you can imagine how often that doesn't wake her up!
So, our poor daughter has been regularly subjected to waking up in the middle of the night with both her parents standing over her holding a flashlight. If that doesn't give her nightmares, we don't know what will.

It would give me nightmares if I saw you two standing above me with a flashlight! :)

Um...I think it would bother me with someone standing over me with a flashlight, but I would love someone to cut my toenails, I hate that job. Hugs to you Morgan, luv you, A. Denise & U. Dan

Good thing you never woke up then when I used to do that in college, Tammy. Ha!

Too funny! I have been taking the twins outside - they are usually distracted enough to let me clip their nails. However, they are NOT as mobile as Morgan (and the weather is getting colder) so I will probably have to figure out a new plan soon! I'm so excited that we're going to see you at Loralee's wedding!!! Can't wait!

Kim - We have reached the age now where TV distracts Morgan enough that I can clip her nails. We're not big fans of letting Morgan watch TV, but if 10 minutes of an Elmo video once a week allows me to trim her nails it's worth it. :)
