I joined the ranks of the 30-somethings yesterday and I couldn't be more thankful. Here's why:
• My incredible husband made one of my lifelong dreams come true as a birthday gift.
• Cousin Lucas reminded us all what it means to honor our spouse and I was inspired by his words.
• My parents and sister kept Morgan and Joey overnight, giving Jeff and I our first night alone (and morning to sleep in) in 16 months.
• Jeff's parents picked up a Sicily's pizza for us - our favorite!
• The universe brought my best friend to me so she would be there to help me celebrate turning 30.
• My Spartans beat Purdue (making MSU bowl-eligible, yay!).
• My Colts beat the Patriots in a stunning come-from-behind 35-34 victory and I was actually able to stay up and watch it.
I could not have asked for a better start to a new decade. Thank you friends, family and football players. ;)

Happy 30th birthday Lauren. I knew your birthday was on opening day, and I don't know why...a little pre-occupied I guess with weddings, I forgot. I'm so sorry, happy belated. Sounds like it was G R E A T! By the way I think I told you this at the wedding but you looked adorable and if I didn't know better I'd have thought you were pregnant just by your glow that night.
