Morgan can swim! Really, truly swim. Face under the water, arms paddling instead of holding her nose, legs kicking, no one holding onto her, swim.

I am so incredibly proud of her and so incredibly petrified by the whole thing. I wasn't expecting the last part. I guess I thought it would be awhile before she would be this far along on the swimming spectrum.
Last year at this time we were in the parent/child swim class because she wouldn't go in the water alone. She has only had 3 months of lessons since then, but now, when her swim instructor is helping another child with technique, she's usually having a contest with one of the other kids to see who can do the "coolest tricks" underwater. UNDERWATER! That's the part that petrifies me. She loves going underwater and isn't scared in the least, but I'm almost certain my heart stops beating from the moment she goes under until the moment she resurfaces. I know for a fact that I hold my breath, because I've caught myself doing it.
So, I try to constantly remind myself during swim lessons how great it is that she's not afraid. She has accomplished so much in just one year and I am incredibly proud of her. Way to go, Morganfish!

It is terrifying to watch our little ones grow up in this great big world isn't it? Very proud of her though! Now ahe can come swim with us this summer :-)
How great is this??? Wow, tell her A. Denise and U. Dan just think she is the coolest. We will have to start calling her little fish!!! I really think it is wonderful. All kids should learn to swim. Hugs and miss you guys in Indy!!
