For our third date night, I got out our foot spa and we each took a turn getting a foot massage and soak while we played Shout About Movies. Jeff won the game, but only because I wagered all of my points for the bonus question at the end and he only wagered half (we both answered incorrectly).
Date Night #4
For our fourth date night, we hopped in the car (at Morgan's bedtime so she fell asleep) and Jeff drove me across town to see his new place of employment (now his old place of employment - he is unemployed again - long story). Before we set off across town, though, we stopped at Steak n Shake for hand-dipped milk shakes! Yum! It was a tension-filled date night because we spent most of the drive discussing our finances. We were able to resolve the issue we were having before the end of the night, however, so it was productive.

Karaoke night in our basement!
Date Night #5 - Jeff's Turn to Plan!
Brilliant man that he is, Jeff came up with a very fun and unique date night activity his first week. We each wrote down four songs we like from a stack of cds and then we went down in our basement and actually used our karaoke machine! I was pleasantly surprised by how much fun it was to belt out the songs with someone actually listening. We both like to sing but we're both a little embarassed to sing in front of other people, so it was nice to have a non-judgemental audience of one!

those were all great date night! thanks for sharing it with me. sorry to hear your husband being unemployed again. it's a rough economy out there. my husband was unemployed for almost a year and half. and just started working at the beginning of this year. so good luck with job hunting! there is hope. :)

I got on to check your blog this morning specifically to see if you had any date night updates! They inspire me to get creative (although crashing on the couch in front of a movie still tends to be our activity of choice)Sorry to hear about Jeff's job. We will be praying. Love you guys!
Thanks for the luck and prayers. Jeff is keeping himself busy with yardwork when he isn't looking for jobs. As weird as it sounds, we're kind of getting used to the situation since this is technically the third time he has been unemployed in the past year.
i'm out of the loop...last time I heard Jeff got a new job. Have I missed something? Or is this old news. A. Denise
He HAD a new job - but it was short-lived (about 3 weeks). The hours stunk and the business was poorly run. We are all happier now that he is unemployed again. :)
