Date Night #9

It's my turn to plan the dates for May. We thought my parents were still going to be in town this past weekend, but they left early so they would beat some storms home. So, my plans to leave the house fell through and I had to come up with something else to do the morning of our date night.

I came up with three sets of activities falling under three different categories: past, present and future. I called Jeff at work (yes, he is employed again!) and asked him to choose one of the three categories. He chose "present," which was the one I was sure he wouldn't pick. Go figure.

I had selected a writing activity, a board game and a music selection for each category. All of the activities under "present" related to our current likes/lives. For the writing activity, we wrote each other a poem using the letters of our names. After we finished that, I put on a country radio station (since that's the music we listen to now) and we played UpWords again (since it is currently our fav).

I'm not going to share the other writing activities, because I might use those for future dates. The other activities for "past" were Electronic Battleship (we used to play when we first moved to Indy) and listening to Steve Miller Band (because we went to that concert together). For "future" we were going to play Chutes and Ladders and listen to Radio Disney (because both of those things are probably in our near future with a one-year-old in our house). When I told Jeff the activities under the other choices, he was very glad he didn't choose future!

You guys are seriously creative. We're planning a date night tonight and it involves pizza & a movie...could we be more generic? Congrats on the new job!

Kim - I cheat and use the internet for inspiration. ;)

Generic is just as good, as long as you're getting quality time together.
