Time with Friends

When Morgan and I went to Michigan for Easter, we managed to squeeze in a couple of visits with two of my girlfriends and their kids. My best friend, Tammy, and her daughter, Berkley, came over to play at my parents' house. Berkley is only 5 months younger than Morgan, so they play nicely together. It was a gorgeous day, so we took them out in the backyard to play. We got some balls out of the garage to play with, but they were much happier picking up rocks, putting them in buckets and dumping them out again.
Tammy and I were also able to coordinate some time to hang out alone - no kids, no hubbys! The last time I can remember that happening was when Tammy came to visit me when I was on bed rest, which was 2 years ago! It was much-needed BFF girl time and we both savored the opportunity to go out to dinner together without having to stop every 3 seconds to wipe someone's face or pick food up off the floor. A huge thanks to both of our parents for offering to watch their grandkids!!

Our last day in Michigan we drove to Grand Rapids to stay with Aunt Jamie in her new apartment. While we waited for her to get out of work, we spent a couple hours hanging out at Shawna's house. Shawna and I rarely see each other, so it was wonderful to spend some time talking and visiting with her and her two kids, Charlize and Spencer. As a bonus, her husband, Joe, came home from work early so we also got to see him. I really love spending time with Shawna and her family, and Morgan and I appreciated that they made room for us in their busy schedule with little notice.

We stayed our last night in MI at Jamie's apartment and she made us tacos for dinner. Yum! We were her first guests since she moved there, and even though our visit was short we enjoyed seeing where Jamie lives and spending some one-on-one time with her.
