Morgan's First Trick-or-Treat

Our beautiful butterfly

We almost didn't go trick-or-treating. We didn't go last year, so Morgan never would have known the difference.

Several of our friends invited us to trick-or-treat with them a few weeks before Halloween. Our plan was to take Morgan to the neighbors' houses that we knew, and then have her help pass out candy at home. We stuck to our original plan with each invitation and politely turned them all down.

But then our neighbors called about 4 hours before trick-or-treating was supposed to start. Their kids' school was having a trunk-or-treat and they wanted us to join them. I kid you not, I agonized over the decision of whether or not to go with them for the next 3.5 hours! No wonder Jeff gets so frustrated with me sometimes!

Finally, after all the agonizing, I asked Morgan if she wanted to go trick-or-treat with Kadance and Brady and she quickly answered, "Yeah, Kadance and Brady." If only I had asked sooner ...

Trick-or-Treat!

We went with the neighbors to the trunk-or-treat, and I'm SO glad we did. The main reason we didn't want to do a lot of trick-or-treating was because we didn't want to end up carrying Morgan around when she got tired and we didn't want her to get a ton of candy since we had never let her eat any before. The trunk-or-treat solved both problems - compact area (we covered it in 15 minutes) and only half a bucket of candy. Plus, we were home by 7:30, which still gave us time to pass out candy at our house (that was part of the reason I agonized over whether or not to go).

On the ride home, we decided to give Morgan her first piece of sugary candy ever ...

The twins got their first candy ever too! I agonized about that. In the end, they are allergic to most candies, so they only got a few smarties & 2 dum dums, but I wasn't ready to go there yet! She is an adorable butterfly :)
