Morgan's first camping trip/3rd Birthday

I'm 3 years old!

For Morgan's 3rd birthday, we organized a camping trip with both sets of grandparents and her aunts and uncles. We planned to take Morgan on her first camping trip last summer, but weather and illness thwarted our plans both times we tried.

We camped for three nights at Salamonie Reservoir, which is a State Park just southwest of Fort Wayne, Ind. We had four campsites: two trailers, one pop-up camper and one tent. Grandma Debbie and Papa Dave, Grandma Berta and Papa Don, Aunt Rachel and Uncle Jesse (and their dog, Hennessey), and Great Aunt Gale and Great Uncle Jim all camped with us. We had a birthday party for Morgan the second night, complete with "tiny cupcakes" that Grandma Berta made for everyone at Morgan's request.

Morgan's favorite things at the campground were digging in the sand and floating on the raft at the beach, the "tight rope swing" (tire swing) at the playground, roasting marshmallows (but not too squishy), feeding popcorn to the carp at the marina and riding on Papa Don's bike with him.

In deep conversation with Papa Dave.

We brought shovels, but she preferred this method for digging at the beach.

On Morgan's actual birthday, July 5, she had a birthday party at daycare. She had been telling Patty that she wanted to have a princess party, so Patty got her a princess Barbie cake that all of the kids went crazy over!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Morgan! Mom and Dad hope you had a blast! We love you!
